Personal: Preparing my heart for revival

Wednesday, 16 July 2014

We all have inner longings that can be met only in an intimate relationship with God. Men and women everywhere try to meet these longings in different ways but don't find fulfilment until they embrace the Lord and His heart for them. We can never fully live for God, abandoned to His purposes, until we have the longings of our hearts met by His perfect love. When we have had a personal revelation of that love, knowing He deeply enjoys us and treasures our relationship with Him, we will be able to live and pray more effectively. Our faith will deepen and prayer will grow from that fellowship with Him, becoming a greater joy and privilege. (Source: Intercessors Arise). Father, draw me into Your chamber. I long to see Your face and hear Your voice. You are beautiful to me.

Breakthrough: Evangelistic army brings Jesus to World Cup

Wednesday, 16 July 2014

The government reports 600,000 foreign tourists visited Brazil during the month of the Soccer World Cup. Many come from Muslim countries like Algeria and Iran, where they may have never heard about Jesus. It's a unique opportunity to help them to hear the Gospel message. That's why churches and ministries including Brazil's Bible Society and Youth With A Mission (YWAM) have deployed a small army of evangelists to the streets and parks of the city. They were enthusiastically greeting soccer fans and sharing the good news of salvation. One hundred thousand copies of the Bible with individual covers for each host city of the World Cup have been printed and distributed. One fan, who had just experienced a personal tragedy, found a sympathetic listener in Vaneide, a personal evangelist. 'This man had lost his wife in a fire and became blind,' she recalled. 'He stopped and talked with me for half an hour. I told him about Jesus and suddenly he said, 'Now I understand the way to the truth!' And at that moment he gave his life to Jesus.' (Website: http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/world/2014/June/Evangelistic-Army-Brings-Jesus-to-World-Cup/). Praise the Lord for every person who has accepted Jesus as Redeemer and Lord. Pray that each person who has received a Bible will read it. Pray that each person's eyes will be enlightened by the Spirit of wisdom and revelation.

Spiritual Awakening: Broadcasting on television

Wednesday, 16 July 2014

South African Christians have a good reason to rejoice - a broadcasting-breakthrough. Something very rare in the world today is that a national broadcaster would screen a series of programmes with pure Christian content based on the Bible only. SABC 2 will be broadcasting six episodes of our reality TV series, Exploring The Lands Of The Bible. This is a wonderful opportunity in which all Christians can participate, not only by watching the series or helping to announce it, but especially to intercede for everyone watching. At Kerugma Productions we encourage you to pray all the time during the broadcast-weeks of this series, for people to switch their TV's on and that the Lord would use these programs in a powerful way in the hearts of the viewers. Social Justice: The Matthew lunch

Wednesday, 16 July 2014

The Matthew Lunch, an initiative that fed, clothed and pampered more than 250 impoverished people in 2013, is back in action this year with the goal of reaching even more homeless and destitute folk in Port Elizabeth. While 48 congregations and 12 Christian ministries have already signed up to help, they still need many more volunteers for the event on September 20, 2014. Guests will be collected from various pick-up points by bus. On arrival they will be treated with something to eat, a goodie bag, an opportunity to get cleaned up and a clean set of clothes. (Website: http://gatewaynews.co.za/50-churches-expected-to-unite-to-serve-pe-homeless-in-matthew-lunch-2014/). Praise God for this beautiful gesture to reach out to the impoverished. Pray for opportunities where these people can accept Christ and become a true disciple for Him. Ask for God's provision to make this day extra special for each person attending.

Salvation for the nations: Christians praying for Muslims during Ramadan (28 June-27 July 2014)

Wednesday, 16 July 2014

One of the people groups living in Iran is the Mazanderani. They live in northern Iran's Mazanderan province, bordering the Caspian Sea. Although Mazanderan was the last province in Iran to be converted to Islam, the Mazanderani are now virtually all Muslim. Society is organized according to the guidelines of traditional Islamic communities, where the family is the major social unit led by the father. Although the Qur'an gives women equal status in Islamic society, in reality they are second class citizens with little or no political freedom. Many Mazanderani are uneducated. The fact that their language is not yet in written form presents a roadblock to cultural and spiritual progress. Perhaps Christian teachers have a golden opportunity to work among this people group? (Website: http://www.jwipn.com/30-days-of-ramadan-prayer-focus-28-june-27-july-2014/). Ask the Lord to call people willing to go to Iran as long-term missionaries and share Christ with the Mazanderani. A university exists in the town of Babol which may represent an open door for linguists willing to create a written script of the Mazanderani language. And the things you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. (2 Timothy 2:2). Pray for the availability of the JESUS Film in the primary language of this people, and openness among them to the message of Jesus.
