Personal: Preparing my heart for revival

Wednesday, 10 December 2014

Hosea 11 and 14 show us how God revives and renews His people. God loved them after they returned to Him from a season of rebellion; and He loved them throughout the whole process of correcting them. It was His love for them, in fact, that caused them to want to return to Him. Perhaps your own heart is hungering for intimacy with God – an intimacy that you have not enjoyed for a long time or perhaps ave never known. That very desire is God-initiated, He wants you back! Why? Because He loves you and knows that you cannot experience all He has for you in your present condition. (Source:Seeking Him by Nancy Leigh DeMoss and Tim Grissom). Ask God to touch your heart again with His love.

Testimony: Arabs and Jews unite to proclaim Messiah's return

Wednesday, 10 December 2014

A new generation of Arab and Jewish followers of Jesus met together last week to strategise on how to 'turn Israel upside down.' Two hundred and sixty Messianic Jewish and Arab pastors, youth leaders, evangelists, Bible-school teachers and ministry leaders gathered for a three-day council to discuss, study, pray and work together to effectively bring the Word of God in power to Arabs and Jews throughout the whole Land of Israel. These seasoned men and women of faith embody decades of labour proclaiming the Gospel to local Arabs and Jews. Most have given up everything to preach Messiah to their unbelieving Muslim and Jewish families and friends. Despised because of their faith, they have lost jobs, suffered rejection and endured multiple other hardships, yet their passion to bring the Good News to their people remains unquenched. 'We will keep preaching and teaching the Word of God until it changes the people of Israel,' declared one leading pastor. (Website: http://www.breakingchristiannews.com/articles/display_art.html?ID=15044). Praise God for leading people to share the Gospel with the lost. Pray for these leaders to constantly abide in God's Truth and allowing Him to lead every form of outreach whether through friendship, crusades or divine encounters. May God's name be exalted in all the nations!

Spiritual Awakening: Thailand

Wednesday, 10 December 2014

More than 60 million Thais are considered absolutely unreached in a country of just 67 million people. The gospel has been in Thailand for nearly 200 years and yet less than 2% are generally considered Christian. The blindness to the gospel and hardness of heart is intense. Pray against every satanic blind-fold and every demonic Buddhist stronghold that sways the Thai people. Pray millions will become increasingly disillusioned and discontented with the philosophy of Buddhism and its superficiality in respect to the deep questions and meaning of life. Pray for breakthrough revelations for contextualizing the message of the gospel in ways that are culturally relevant to Buddhist Thais so that more and more can come to faith. Social Justice: Gang influence in Cape communities

Wednesday, 10 December 2014

Brutal Cape gangs are thriving, thanks to being propped up by powerful investors from across the globe. International crime syndicates plough millions into gangs like the Americans who boast thousands of members in the province. Research by the Institute for Security Studies has found that like some multinational companies, Cape gangs have strong underworld partners in Nigeria, China, Pakistan, India, Russia and Britain. The report, The Drug Trade and Governance in Cape Town, paints a bleak picture for the families living in neighbourhoods including Manenberg, Hanover Park, Beacon Valley, Tafelsig and Valhalla Park, who hope to escape the gangs' deadly grip. (Website: http://www.iol.co.za/news/crime-courts/cape-gangs-have-global-backing-1.1790368#.VIAXTPmUd1Z). Ask God for the revelation of His Son, Jesus Christ, to flood the hearts of the gang leaders. Pray for God's love to penetrate their hearts and break the power of hatred, bitterness and violence in their lives. Pray for young children who admire and look up to gang members; that there will be a way out of this vicious cycle of pain for them. Pray that young children will have access to sport activities, music, reading clubs, etc. during the holiday and not be lured into crime or malicious deeds.

Salvation for the nations: Persecution in Yemen

Wednesday, 10 December 2014

Yemen is an incredibly dangerous place for Christians. On 29 June, the government escalated its efforts to identify and arrest Christian workers and Muslim Background Believers (MBB). Heightened security at the Sanaa airport has virtually prevented escape for many. One missionary team there is requesting urgent prayer, saying, "At the moment (unnamed for security reasons) is number one on National Security and Al Qaeda hit lists to be eliminated from this world. They are in front of (unnamed for security reasons) house with several vehicles, weapons, etc." Although Christian workers face abduction, imprisonment, and possible death, MBBs usually face immediate death. For this reason, Christian workers are particularly concerned about new converts. (E-mail: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ). Pray for steadfastness and boldness for Christian workers and Muslim Background Believers in the face of increased persecution. (Acts 4:29). Ask God to confront persecutors for their sins. Pray for their eyes to be opened to the truth of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world (Acts 26:14). Pray for The Word to continue to spread to every tongue, tribe, and nation. (Matthew 24:14).
