7Days Annual Report – 2013

7DaysThe Mission:
Calling upon every local church to spend 7 days to pray night & day for spiritual awakening, social justice and salvation of the unsaved in South Africa.

Background:
During the World Prayer Assembly, Indonesia 2012, various prayer leaders from around the world expressed their desire for intensified 24/7 prayer for revival among the nations during the year 2013. This resulted in the "7Days on the Wall 2013" initiative being launched across South Africa beginning of September 2012.

Since the first week of January 2013, an average of seven churches per week engaged in this initiative. During May something happened in Paarl Valley that gave fresh momentum to this wave of 24/7 prayer for revival in SA. Some twenty church leaders (young/old) gathered together to pray and plan a week of prayer for the Paarl Valley. They decided to continue praying every second week at different locations, while calling on the whole valley to set apart the second week of September to earnestly pray for revival in various locations. As more than 40 "prayer stations" registered, other communities got interested. This resulted in more than 200 churches/schools/farms/etc throughout the Cape Peninsula that took part during September/October. Nationally more than 500 churches/communities registered for a week of prayer somewhere during the year.

As this wave continued, with Mossel Bay doing a week in November with 30 churches, it was decided to continue mobilising the nation during 2014 for intensified prayer for revival. Many answers to prayer have been reported and many are planning follow-up weeks of prayer. In this process at least 11 community based prayer networks have been formed to give stronger input on a local level.

The following pages contain some of the encouraging testimonies received from various churches/communities that participated during the year.

Monthly Report – January, 2013
Although many people prayed for the country over the holiday period, we did find a slow start to organised prayer activity in most churches during January, this year. In spite of this situation, more than 40 local churches/groups took part in "7Days on the Wall", each taking one week to pray night and day for revival, salvation of the unsaved and social justice. Here are some of the stories.

Growing desire for revival in SA!
As reports are coming in, it becomes clear that there is a remnant of the nation that has a growing desire for a renewed spiritual awakening across the country. In many cases people are taking hands across the borders of their own congregation to gather as communities before God. This trend expressed itself in various ways. Some cities had as many as 10 churches that each took part in the same week. Building 24/7 prayer chains is most common, whether people pray at home or in specific prayer rooms. Some towns divided the town and allocated a number of streets to be prayer-walked by each congregation. Others organised prayer meetings every night and had special events for the youth/children.

Women crying for their children
The Buhle Park Prayer Group in Boksburg started this year, with 30 women that gather twice a week to pray for revival and the younger generation in their Township. For their week of prayer they each chose one hour per day to pray for the whole week. (Pinkie, e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )

Every age group involved!
In Standerton 9 churches took part in a whole week of focussed prayer for revival in their city and the nation. They had a central prayer room where people from different churches took specific slots. At some point 350 High School youth knelt together in the prayer room for their prayer slot. Another afternoon they had a 100 Primary School children with their teachers gathering for their hour of prayer. They never experienced something like this before and see it as the start of something new. (Amanda le Roux, e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Felt like Pentecost!
Pastor Vic Smith from Bronkhorstspruit reports: "Thirty young people took part in an all night prayer meeting and God met with us in a wonderful way in the early morning between 3am – 6am. The praise and worship was so intense that it felt as if God came down from heaven to the earth to meet with us, this was really Pentecost. The prayer-walk was attended by 80 people which was made up of 8 different churches." (Pastor Vic Smith, e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Monthly Report – February, 2013

"7Days on the Wall 2013" is part of a global awakening of day-and-night prayer. Many prayer networks have called for this year to be a year of focussed, intensified prayer for revival among the nations. As the year progresses, it becomes clear that we are only seeing in part of the prayer movement on a national level. Thousands of believers across the nation are currently busy with a 40-Day Prayer & Fasting for the country.

Over the first 9 weeks of this year, more than 100 groups/churches have engaged in "7Days on the Wall", each taking one week to pray for revival, salvation of the unsaved and social justice. Some of these groups represented up to 11 local churches working together in seeking spiritual breakthrough in their communities. Here are some of the stories.

Creative ideas make prayer exciting!
As reports are coming in, it becomes clear that there is a remnant of the nation that has a growing desire for a renewed spiritual awakening across the country. In some cases people are taking hands across the borders of their own congregation to gather as communities before God.

24/7 Crossing Boundaries in Cape Town
One congregation in Bellville formed partnership with two local churches in Khayelitsha (Cape Town). Each church took responsibility to fill up their own "Prayer Wall". This call came from the Headmaster of a school in this area where gangterism flourishes. They finished their week together with a communion service at one of the Khayelitsha churches. (Tertius Bezuidenhout, e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )

Various churches working together (Brackenfell)
"We had a wonderful week with the whole congregation taking part. Can't remember when our church have prayed so much before!
Hearing from the six other congregations that took part, there is a growing expectation of greater things to develop in the community of Brackenfell. I am "super excited" about the rest of the year!" (Jackie, e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )

Perseverance of women crying for their children (Boksburg)
The Buhle Park Prayer Group in Boksburg started this year, with 30 women that gather twice a week to pray for revival and the younger generation in their Township. For their week of prayer they each chose one hour per day to pray for the whole week.
This group have decided to continue praying for another three weeks, trusting God for a breakthrough! (Pinkie, e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )

Youth engage in prayer walking! (Prieska)
Lots of excitement developed as members of more than 4 local churches in Prieska joined together in prayer for their town. Apart from daily hours of prayer, they also divided the town, allocating certain streets to every congregation to prayer-walk their neighborhood. The Saturday morning, early, they gathered on a "koppie" outside the town to pray together. One of the highlights of the week was the 1000 balloons that were distributed as young people prayed for individuals on the street! (Marius, e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )

Network of 9 groups still continues after 9 weeks! (Pongola)
9 Different groups have been praying in the area of Pongola (Kwazulu-Natal) since the beginning of the year. They have daily corporate gatherings, praying for revival in their community and the country. (Solomon, e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Monthly Report – March, 2013

In prisons all over the country inmates are gathering in their cells hour-by-hour to pray 24/7 for 50 days non-stop!

Over the first 22 weeks of this year, more than 200 groups/churches have engaged in "7Days on the Wall", each taking one week to pray for revival, salvation of the unsaved and social justice. Some of these groups represented up to 22 local churches working together in seeking spiritual breakthrough in their communities. Here are some of the stories received during May, this year.

Desperate desire for revival among elderly!
As reports are coming in, it becomes clear that there is a remnant of the nation that has a growing desire for a renewed spiritual awakening across the country. In some cases people are taking hands across the borders of their own congregation to gather as communities before God. De Rust Retirement Centre just finished their first "7Days on the Wall" in a room specifically made up for this purpose with banners, tables with prayer info and candles for atmosphere. They signed up for specific hours, some of them on daily basis. Testifying of their parents witnessing revival, they say, "People don't know what revival is anymore!" One by one they came out of the room with great gratitude (even eyes filled with tears) and a strong sense of God's presence in the room that they could still feel after the week finished.

Church leaders praying for revival to touch the Paarl Valley yet again!
Two months ago 20 senior pastors together with youth leaders from Franschhoek to Wellington gathered to consider a week of 24/7 prayer for revival across the valley. Since then new leaders are joining every second week as they gather to pray and plan for a week of prayer in September. Every church/group is committed to a three-fold strategy of a prayer room/24/7 prayer wall/neighbourhood prayer walk. Imagine 30 Lighthouses burning 24/7 with prayer all over the Valley?

God will make the wrong things right, when we call to Him day and night!

During our prayers session we received a lot of messages from God. The one came from Lamentation 2: 18-19 that people must turn from there sins and they must mourn over their wrongs against God, their stubbornness had brought so much grief especially to the innocent eg. their children. Lamentation 3: 40- 42, our suffering and sins should bring us back to God and we must cry for forgiveness and only when our prideful, indepent hearts are broken over our sins, can God come to our rescue. @7Daysonthewall

Monthly Report – July, 2013

"7Days on the Wall 2013" is part of a global awakening of day-and-night prayer. Many prayer networks have called for this year to be a year of focussed, intensified prayer for revival among the nations.

Over the first six months of this year, 169 groups/churches have registered for the "7Days on the Wall" initiative, each taking one week to pray for revival, salvation of the unsaved and social justice. Some of these groups represented up to 22 local churches working together in seeking spiritual breakthrough in their communities. There seems to be a sudden increase as the registrations have almost doubled to a total of 322 so far this year.

Exponential increase!
As reports are coming in, it becomes clear that there is a remnant of the nation that has a growing desire for a renewed spiritual awakening across the country. In some cases people are taking hands across the borders of their own congregation to gather as communities before God. There seems to be a sudden increase in the number of registrations for the rest of the year, as August is showing 37 new registrations from the Johannesburg/Soweto region. The momentum seems to increase towards September with 80 churches/schools/farms in the Cape Peninsula engaging in weeks of 24/7 prayer for revival. This lead to the birthing of the "Basin Prayer Network" in the Helderberg, as well as another 24/7 Prayer Watch established in Worcester.

Since then new leaders have joined every second week as they gather to pray and plan for the second week of September. Every church/group in this valley is committed to a three-fold strategy of a prayer room/24/7 prayer wall/neighbourhood prayer walk. So far 31 churches/farms have joined this process with 7 schools that are busy planning their involvement. This awakening to 24/7 prayer is spreading to other areas in the Peninsula like the West Coast/Tyger Valley/Helderberg/Gugulethu/Tygerberg/City Bowl, etc.

Monthly Report – August, 2013

"7Days on the Wall 2013" is part of a global awakening of day-and-night prayer. Many prayer networks have called for this year to be a year of focussed, intensified prayer for revival among the nations.

Over the first eight months of this year, 221 groups/churches have registered for the "7Days on the Wall" initiative, each taking one week to pray for revival, salvation of the unsaved and social justice in South Africa. Some of these groups represented up to 22 local churches working together in seeking spiritual breakthrough in their communities. There seems to be a sudden increase as September/October already shows more registrations than the total over the first eight months of this year.

24/7 Momentum still continues!
As reports are coming in, it becomes clear that there is a remnant of the nation that has a growing desire for a renewed spiritual awakening across the country. There seems to be a sudden increase in the number of registrations for the rest of the year. August showed 42 registrations mainly from the Johannesburg/Soweto region. The momentum seems to increase sharply from beginning September with more than 100 churches/schools/farms in the Cape Peninsula engaging in weeks of 24/7 prayer for revival. This lead to the birthing of the "Basin Prayer Network" in the Helderberg, the "Brackenfell Prayer Network", as well as the "Dove's Peak Prayer Network" in the City Centre.

Monthly Report – September, 2013

"7Days on the Wall 2013" is part of a global awakening of day-and-night prayer. Many prayer networks have called for this year to be a year of focussed, intensified prayer for revival among the nations.

Over the first eight months of this year, 221 groups/churches have registered for the "7Days on the Wall" initiative, each taking one week to pray for revival, salvation of the unsaved and social justice in South Africa. 24/7 Penetrates the Mother City!
This wave of 24/7 prayer is taking over the Mother City, as October has more churches registered than September. This includes more than 150 churches in the Helderberg, Brackenfell, City-Bowl, Tygerberg, Gugulethu, Kuils River and the West-Coast.

"Don't pray for me!"
One of the 40 prayer stations in the Paarl Valley sent in this amazing testimony. They scheduled a prayer walk in their community when the rain stopped their plans. They came together and re-strategized, deciding to have a prayer drive and pray at different locations. Each small team chose a letter and had to visit locations that start with the letter they received. One couple chose the letter A and decided to visit one of the local "Aduld Shops" in the Valley. Approaching the owner in the shop, they asked if they could pray for him. He declined the offer and they lingered in the shop. Few minutes later they approached him again and this time he agreed to be prayed for. After the short time of prayer he exclaimed that he feels so light as if things left him! We this positive reaction the couple left and thanked the Lord for this open door.

12 Nations pray for Revival!
At the "12th Watchman's School of Prayer" in Simon's Town, end of September, 120 believers from 12 different nations gathered for five days to seek God for revival. We received the following testimony from one of the youth leaders in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga Province.

Local congregation experience touch of revival
"After the school I was revived and wanted my church to be revived also. I went to my pastors to share with them what I learned. They called the whole church for 7days of prayer and fasting. We prayed at church at 5-6am/ 5-6pm. We prayed for deliverance and for revival in the church. For 7days morning/ night we seek the Lord and at our Sunday service I was called to lead the worship. The Holy Spirit directed me to Revelation 4v4-11. As I read the word, all of a sudden I started repeating the worship words in verse 8 and 11. Then every one started worshiping, others bowed down crying for their mercy, the Spirit of the Lord was moving touching everyone, young and old in the church, reviving and delivering us. Then suddenly we were all filled with joy and we started to dance spiritual dancing, laughing and praising the Lord with loud shout. The Lord is faithful he answered us after 7days of prayer." [Mary, Kwamhlanga]

"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think..."

HELDERBERG: 13-20 OCTOBER 2013

About 100 church/youth leaders from various denominations and communities across the Helderberg Basin attended a Strategic Leaders Gathering at a Coffee Shop in the Strand, the morning of Wednesday, 28 August 2013. This meeting was seen as a very significant event as various delegates sensed a serious expectation for what God is about to do in the Helderberg.

The actual week of prayer took place during 13-20 October 2013, as more than 40 churches/groups/schools participated in seeking the Lord for revival in the Helderberg. Each group united in prayer for spiritual awakening, social justice and salvation of the unsaved. A three-fold strategy was followed, including a creative prayer room, a 24/7 prayer wall and prayer walking.

3 November 2013
During 3 -11 November, 32 churches in the Mosselbay area had the privilege of being part of the "7Days on the Wall 2013" national prayer initiative for revival in South Africa. You could feel the excitement and everyone who partook finished the week encouraged and invigorated with zeal and expectancy for what the Lord will accomplish for us.

CALL TO STAND ON THE WALL IN 2014!

God's will is that His children should persevere in prayer for the spiritual awakening of the church, salvation of the unsaved and social justice. (2 Corinthians 1:11) The extraordinary blessing of the Lord on this project in 2013 filled us with courage to continue in 2014.

Imagine more than 900 cities and towns in South Africa praying in 7 day watches for the spiritual awakening of the church, salvation of the unsaved and social justice.

Imagine 10 000 local churches in South Africa becoming "houses of prayer for all nations"!
